NEET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Educational qualification: | Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects from a recognized board. |
Qualifying marks: | Candidates belonging to the General category must have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology in their 12th or HSC examination. Candidates belonging to the Reserved category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) must score a minimum of 40% in the qualifying examination. |
Age: | Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the year they are admitted. There is no upper age limit. |
Citizenship: | Candidates must be Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). |
Number of attempts: | There is no upper limit on the number of attempts for NEET. |
NEET Exam Pattern & Syllabus
NEET exam contains four subjects. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Questions of all four subjects are divided into two sections.
- Section A contains 35 questions all carrying +4 marks for correct answer and -1 negative marking for every incorrect answer.
- Section B has 15 questions from which students can attempt maximum 10 questions. Questions of section B also carry +4 marks for correct answers and -1 for incorrect.
